  • Do you work on wells?

    - Yes, we work on all types of water wells

  • Do you just drill for wells?

    - No we take care of everything from servicing existing wells to the installation of a new well

  • Do you work on pumps?

    - Yes, we service flint & walling pumps, shallow well pumps, and all submersibles

  • I have no water what do I do?

    • Check the breaker to make sure hasn’t tripped
    •  Check to see if you have power to pressure switch or controls
    •  Check to see if the pump is running by feeling the vibration of the pump
    •  Contact us to have your system checked and serviced if needed 

  • Do you have an emergency service?

    We offer weekend service depending on need and you have to call us direct 

  • What area do you service?

    SW & NW including up to St Joseph/Benton Harbor Michigan, east to Elkhart/Bristol, south to 

    Plymouth and West to New Carlisle/Rolling Prairie in Indiana and out to New Buffalo in MI


  • How often should I chlorinate my well

    Depending on the quality of water, up to twice per year

  • Why should I chlorinate my well?

    If you’ve had plumbing work done, if you water has an odor to it, or doing a property transfer. 

  • Why does my water smell?

    Confirm where the odor is coming from, such as an outside faucet/spicket, faucet, or shower. There could be many reasons why there is an odor, we recommend contacting us to determine further if an inspection is needed. 


    If the odor is from your dishwasher, first check to make sure the debris trap/filter is cleaned.


  • How long does it take to drill a well?

    Each installation is different, on average 3-4 hours. 

  • How do I prepare to have a new well installed?

    • Outside area is clear and for the actual hook-up on the inside – make sure work area is clear and 
    • any personal items covered or removed as dust will be created
    •  Save up water – couple gallons due to the immediate chlorination of wells. 

  • Do you pump or work on septic systems?

    NO we do NOT work on or service septic systems. 

  • Do you do city water hookups?

    No we not do city water hookups, contact your local licensed plumber.

  • I hit the plastic pipe sticking out of the ground - what do I do?

    First put a bucket over it so no additional debris gets in and contact us. 

  • What types of water conditioning systems do you offer?

    • Water Softeners: To reduce hardness and prevent scale buildup.
    • Iron Removal Systems: To eliminate iron, manganese, and sulfur.
    • pH Balancing Systems: To adjust the pH levels and improve water taste.
    • Water Filtration Systems: Including reverse osmosis and polishers to remove up to 90% of sediments and finish the water.
  • Do you provide free water testing, and what does it involve?

    Yes, Maurer Well offers free water testing to assess your water quality. We will analyze your water sample for contaminants such as iron, hardness, pH levels, and sulfur. Based on the results, we will recommend the most suitable water conditioning solutions tailored to your specific needs.

  • How can I tell if my water needs conditioning?

    • Common signs that your water may need conditioning include:
    • Rotten Egg Smell
    • Brown or Stained Water
    • Staining on Fixtures and Laundry
    • Hard Water Deposits
