Maurer Wells’ Successful First Annual Food Drive for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Maurer Well Service hosted their first annual food drive in partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Running from November 1st to December 1st, this campaign not only provided much-needed food donations but also encouraged their clients to give back while receiving quality home services.
The food drive was a resounding success, with Maurer Well surpassing their goals and making a tangible impact in the fight against hunger in their community. By combining charitable giving with their standard services, Maurer Well provided an innovative way for customers to contribute to a worthy cause while saving on home repairs.

The Campaign
With the closing of Clay High School, Owners Tim, Rob, and Chris decided someone needed to step up to the plate. Picking up the tradition set by the school, they decided to hold the food drive and raise as much food as possible to support the major loss the food bank faced with Clay closing.
The premise of the campaign was simple yet effective: customers who donated food items to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana during the campaign period received a discount on their service bills, with Maurer Wells’ skilled technicians completing jobs as usual at their homes. For every donation made, the company offered customers a percentage off their service fees, creating an incentive for giving.
The food drive was designed to be as convenient as possible for participants. Customers could donate non-perishable food items directly to the Maurer Wells service team when technicians arrived at their homes for appointments. Chris Maurer also decided to continue a Clay tradition, "for those not having work done, donators could call in and give the office an address, and our staff members would come and pick up those donations," said Maurer. The company offered an easy way for families to contribute without leaving their home, both by offering a pick up service, and by turning every service call into an opportunity for positive community impact.

Maurer Well was able to raise a large 500 pound donation, the largest pickup the Food Bank had done in the 2024 year.

At Maurer Well, we're more than just a company — we're a community. As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back and making a positive impact, we're excited to announce the launch of our First Annual Food Drive to support the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. This initiative is a vital step in helping to fight hunger in our local community, and we invite everyone to join us in this effort to make a difference. A Commitment to Giving Back At Maurer Well, we believe that success isn’t just about what we achieve in business — it’s about the positive impact we can have on the people and communities around us. That’s why we’re committed to giving back in meaningful ways. Whether it’s through charitable donations, volunteer work, or community partnerships, we are always looking for ways to help those in need. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is one of the key organizations working to address food insecurity in our region. Each year, they distribute millions of pounds of food to individuals and families in need. But they can’t do it alone. They rely on the support of local businesses, organizations, and individuals to help keep their shelves stocked and their programs running. This is where Maurer Well comes in. Why Support the Food Bank of Northern Indiana? Food insecurity is a growing issue in our region, affecting individuals and families from all walks of life. According to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, one in seven people in the region struggle with hunger, including one in five children. The ongoing challenges posed by inflation, unemployment, and other economic pressures have only intensified the need for food assistance. "My brothers and I all went to Clay High School," says owner Chris Maurer, "we remember how packed the halls were every year with donated food items." With Clay High closing, Chris and the Maurer Well Family felt it necessary to step up and fill the gap. "My personal family has wanted to get involved with the food bank for a while now, and with Clay closing we felt it was the time to step up and help keep the Colonial tradition alive." By supporting the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, we’re not just providing food — we’re providing hope. Every can, box, and donation made helps to ensure that families have access to nutritious meals. In turn, it empowers individuals to focus on other aspects of their lives, such as employment, education, and improving their overall well-being. How You Can Get Involved We are thrilled to launch this food drive and encourage all of our employees, clients, and community members to get involved. Here’s how you can participate: 1. Donate Non-Perishable Food : We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other staples. These items will be delivered to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, where they will be distributed to local families in need. 2. Monetary Contributions : If you’re unable to donate food, consider making a monetary donation. The Food Bank of Northern Indiana can stretch every dollar donated, purchasing food at a discounted rate to provide even more meals for those in need. Simply go to the Food Bank website, click make a donation, and mark you are donating with Maurer Well Service. 3. Spread the Word : Help us raise awareness by sharing our food drive with your friends, family, and social media networks. The more people who know about the drive, the more food and donations we can collect for those in need. When and Where to Donate The Maurer Well First Annual Food Drive will run from October 1 to December 1. Donations can be given to any of our service technicians while they are performing service for you. Chris has also made the promise that "for any cans donated while we are working on your job, Maurer Well will discount $5 per can up to $100 total off your bill. We also will continue clays tradition of if you would like to donate simply leave your donation on your porch and call our office with your address, our service guys will come and pick it up." If you have any questions about donations, please feel free to contact us at (574) 272-7524. Together, We Can Make a Difference We are proud to launch this food drive as part of our ongoing mission to make a difference in Northern Indiana. But we can’t do it without your support. Whether you donate food, money, every bit helps to combat hunger and provide relief to families facing tough times. Let’s come together as a community to support the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and make this food drive a huge success. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community has to go hungry. Stay tuned to our website and social media pages for updates, and don’t forget to spread the word! Thank you for your generosity and support. Together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate Northern Indiana.
